How to Start Your Day Right: Indulge in Delicious Breakfast at 154 Breakfast Club Cafe!

154 Breakfast Club, J.P. Nagar

A cosy brunch place in JP Nagar Situated right next to the main road, parking for four-wheelers would be an issue. We had made a reservation for 2:15 PM on a Sunday as we were aware that this place would be very crowded. We reached the cafe about 20 minutes prior to our booking time, but we were seated by the time it was 2:15 PM. The menu is very diverse, and I personally felt that it was appropriately priced for what you get. The food does take a little time to reach your table, but if you were patient enough to get a table, you can be patient here too, right? I found that if you are seated outside (that’s where we were seated, as the view just makes up for the food experience), getting the attention of the servers can be a little tricky. The portions of the food are good, and if you can’t finish it, you can still parcel it.

So, we ordered Chocolate Croissant, Peach Ice Tea, Grilled Fish with Caper Butter, Smile at 154, and Kala Latte Hot.

The chocolate croissant had a nice flaky coating, but the filling did make us disappointed; there was hardly any chocolate filling inside.

Chocolate Croissant

I would recommend the peach ice tea, a cold and soothing drink served with a few slices of apple. The peach flavour was just perfect, neither overpowering nor diluted.

The grilled fish with caper butter was cooked perfectly. This is a Basa fish (river fish), so the "meat" is a bit soft when compared to the sea fish. The grilled fish was mildly spiced, and the caper butter complimented the fish. You also get mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables along with this dish as well.

The smile at 154 is an atom bomb of a dish; you get bacon, sausages, sunny side up, hash browns, toast, and salami. For sausages and salami, you get two options, and the same time for the eggs as well. If you are a hardcore non-vegetarian lover, go for this dish.

The Kala Latte coffee was not very impressive, partly because we asked for brown sugar and they gave us jaggery packets instead, so the flavour changed completely.

On the whole, it was a great experience. I think this is a great brunch or lunch place to relax and hang out. The menu is great; you would have to wait a little, but that speaks volumes about the quality of a place. I’m definitely coming here to try out other items on the menu. I would like to give the :

Food - 4/5

Ambience - 4/5

Service - 2.5/5
